Fire/Emergency Sirens
  

Standard Fire Department Use

Each fire department is equipped with an audible siren (siren will not sound between 10 PM and 7 AM) and red light in the event of an emergency the siren will sound for 30 second cycles and the red light will flash for 10 minutes to warn the public of incoming or outgoing apparatus and volunteers. Sunday at 12:30 Sirens will sound as part of a communication test. Within the City of Weston the siren will sound at 10:00 PM as a curfew reminder.

 

Public Alert System

In the event of an upcoming weather event/emergency the siren will constantly sound for 3 minutes without interruption, in this case it is to advise the public to tune to the local radio or television station for further information. In the event of a failure at Stonewall Jackson or Stonecoal Dam the Weston Fire siren will sound constantly for a 10 Minute period without interruption.
